Hamilton-based artist Ron Eady was born in 1957 into a long line of craftsmen, his father a piano cabinet maker, his grandfather a stained glass window designer. Eady spent his formative years focused on drawing, an art form he continues today. After moving into oil painting, Eady has, over the past decade, worked almost exclusively with encaustic painting (using heated beeswax to which coloured pigments are added). He has also experimented with sculpture by incorporating encaustic paint with century old beams he has carved.

Eady's practice is profoundly influenced by the contrasting landscapes he lives in:  the natural majesty of Muskoka and the industrial grit of the Hamilton region. As well, the artist’s collection of historical oddities and antiques serve as an eclectic and important source of inspiration.

Eady attended the Fine Arts Program at Sheridan College with additional studies at the Ontario College of Art and Design. His award winning work has been featured in numerous publications, group and solo exhibitions.

Ron Eady's collection of work "Atmosphere of Uncertainty" was exhibited at The Al Green Gallery in September 2011.  A portion of sale proceeds went to support Camp Oochigeas, an organization which provides year-round programs for children diagnosed with cancer.
